I like to send questions to my future self.
Maybe he has answers better than my present self (is what I tell… myself?)
At the start of the day, I do morning pages.
It usually takes 10 mins, and it kick-starts my brain.
As a result, I don’t need caffeine and feel a surge of mental clarity
While this is great, I would still have racing thoughts throughout the day that derail my focus.
If I allow myself, I can write until the thoughts stop racing.
This is a double-edged sword because the more I write, the more I find things to write about.
Potential remedy: ask myself 30-ish questions without answers before bed, which takes about 10 minutes.
The overall cadence
Write for 10mins in the am
Answer yesterday's questions and write new questions in the pm (~10mins)
As a result fewer racing thoughts.
Think of it this way: You have all the answers you need, questions bring them out.
